We are thrilled to announce the IMIL2024 | 7th Edition of the IberoamericanMeeting on Ionic Liquids, to be hosted in Coimbra, Portugal, from November 20th to 22nd, 2024. 

The aim of this meeting is to sustain the tradition of providing a scientific platform for insightful discussion and interactions among researchers engaging in various facets of ionic liquids, deep eutectic solvents and associated ionic structures. 

Following the successful meeting hosted (virtually) by the Universidad de Santiago de Chile in 2021, the 7th Edition will take place at the University of Coimbra – one of the oldest universities in the world, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, both materially and immaterially, in 2013..

IMIL2024 is a joint effort between the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Sciences and Technology at the University of Coimbra and the Department of Chemistry at the University of Aveiro, in partnership with the Portuguese Society of Chemistry (SPQ).

For the first time, IMIL2024 will be preceded by a Winter School on Ionic Liquids, scheduled to be held at the University of Aveiro, Aveiro Portugal, on November 18th ad 19th, 2024.

IMIL2024 aims to comprehensively cover fundamental aspects, applied research, and practical applications of these innovative classes of solvents. It seeks to create an environment conducive to the participation of both emerging and established researchers, further expanding the extensive scope and adaptability within this captivating scientific domain.
